The Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) is a leading research institute dedicated to exploring fundamental questions in basic sciences and pioneering groundbreaking discoveries that shape the global scientific landscape..

The late Professor Chung-Wook Kim, as the founding director of KIAS, played a pivotal role in establishing the institute and made significant contributions to the advancement of basic sciences in Korea as well as the international academic community. In honor of his outstanding achievements and enduring legacy,

KIAS has established the "Chung-Wook Kim Memorial Fund", which will be an endowment fund to support the following initiatives:

• Attracting and supporting outstanding researchers
• Encouraging the research activities of promising young scientists
• Other initiatives aimed at advancing basic science
