  2.   Electricity
Korea uses 220V, 60Hz AC power. The plug and the power outlet has the shape as follows:
      plug  power outlet
The plugs used in some European countries (e.g. Germany, France) fit in the holes.
The KIAS building also provides 100V outlets. So the plugs using in Japan and USA fit to some power outlets in KIAS building, but not in the accomodations.

  3. Eating and expenses
Please refer to the Local Informations links from the KIAS homepage (the informations are not updated. You should add around 500 Korean won for prices):
    Restaurants/cafeteria inside campus
    Restaurants/stores in the neighborhood

KIAS cafeterias (Korean cuisine) would be the cheapest choice, e.g. 4,000-7,000 won. (The KIAS cafeteria in 2F of union building presents a little humble breakfast and dinner set for 2,000 won.)  'Krone' (in the atrium on 2F in the Building number 2) provides toasts and breads for breakfast, and currys, pastas and pilafs for lunch and dinner in price of 4,000-9,000 won.
Usual one meal costs around 10,000-12,000 won (approx. $10-$12) in outside restaurants. The decent course for dinner starts from around 35,000 won. Usual Korean restaurent present the price including Tax (Some hotel restaurnats or US restaurant chains don't). Giving tip to server is very rare case in Korea.
