This is a place called Hurricane deck in San Rafael Wilderness, which I've hiked during my Sabbatical leave to Santa Barbara in 2014.
Starting from Nira campground, I camped in an isolated campground called white ledge camp alone.
Next day, I hiked along the east part of the ridge whole day.
It is completely dry along the ridge. Not a drop of water ...  I brought only 3 liters of water and almost ran out at the time I finished the loop.
During the whole hike, I have seen no creature except ants and frogs somewhere along the Manzana trail.
All I could hear was a white noise.
Full of dry brush, cactus.
Arid and desolate place.
