2nd KIAS Astrophysics Workshop & Preworkshop Lectures
Current High-Energy Emission around Black Holes

Sep. 3-8, 2001
KIAS International Conference Hall, Seoul, Korea

Black Holes exist in galactic nuclei and in some X-ray binaries found in our own Galaxy and Large Magellanic Cloud. This program focuses on astrophysical high-energy emission processes near black holes, and  development of theoretical frameworks for interpreting observational results.  During pre-workshop lectures (3-5, Sep.), we will have a few selected lectures by invited speakers.

Topics to be covered

Black Hole X-ray Observations
Energy Extraction from Rotating Black Holes
Accretion Disk
Formation of Jets
Supernova and Gamma Ray Bursts
