Superconducting qubit and circuit QED in KRISS Yonuk Chong (Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, Daejeon, Korea) Dramatic progress of the superconducting quantum circuit technology during last decade has made the superconducting circuit as a key component in quantum information science. There is a non -zero hope that a quantum computer might be someday built using Josephson junction based superconducting quantum bits ? The qubit. Superconducting qubit research requires multi -disciplinary technologies such as device physics, materials science, microwave engineering, ultra -low temperature physics and deep understanding of condensed-matter physics and quantum mechanics. After several years of intense research efforts, our team has developed and stabilized superconducting qubit technology so that various quantum measurements are now routinely performed in a single qubit system. Here I will introduce key progress and current status of superconducting qubit development and present recent experimental results of our group.
