It is our pleasure to announce the 9th series of Lectures on Nanoscale
and Mesoscopic Systems, which we will have at Yonsei University during
December 8-9, 2003. The topics of our lectures this time, "spin
transport and spintronics," are closely related to the main theme of The
Third International Conference on Advanced Materials and Devices (ICAMD
'03), which will be held in Jeju Island right after our lecture meeting
(December 10-12). In fact, the three lecturers of our meeting are also
the invited speakers of ICAMD '03. They are all well-known experts in
this field of much heightened recent interest and extensive research
effort. Although the topic of the spin-dependent transport was already
covered in the 6th lecture series in May, 2002, the
organizing members believe this will be the golden opportunity to learn
more in-depth and updated information from the experts in the field. We
are confident that the lectures will be highly beneficial to all the
participants.
